Windows and Doors – and More – at Your Local ReStore

All Weather Windows' Support and Individual Donations Key to Success

Almost $2 million in Donations Thanks to Our National Partners
Thanks to the incredible commitment of long-time donors such as All Weather Windows, and newer donors such as the Eldis Group Partnership (who began to support Habitat last year through its Pella product line), ReStore customers can find brand new windows and doors for their homes, in addition to gently used materials received from other quality manufacturers that generously contribute items to our ReStores!

In 2009, and continuing into 2010, 90% of all ReStores in Canada received new windows and doors from quality manufacturers including All Weather Windows, our largest national window and door donor. Last year alone, the total value of window and door product donations from manufacturers including All Weather Windows and Eldis Group (PartSelect) was approximately $1,790,000!

What Are ReStores?

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are building supply stores that accept and resell quality new and used building materials. They generate funds to support Habitat's building programs, while reducing the amount of used materials that are headed for overflowing landfills. They are an environmentally friendly store that makes sense!

Windows & Doors:  Donors Large and Small Are Reaching Out and Supporting Habitat ReStores Across Canada

The windows and doors product category is very important to the overall success of Habitat ReStores, and in turn, the success of our local Habitat for Humanity affiliates – ReStore revenue helps cover administration costs, allowing cash donations to go directly to homebuilding activities in local communities.

  • Windows and doors are core product categories sold by Habitat for Humanity ReStores across the country.
  • They come from a wide of array of donors, including individuals with a single entry door, interior door and/or window, removed from homes, cottages, and other building.
  • They also come from contractors and manufacturers who are installing window and door replacements in homes and business' in towns and cities all across the country.
  • In many locations doors and windows are salvaged by our ReStore deconstruction crews, who remove them from buildings being demolished or refurbished.
  • We also receive product from manufacturers, retailers and distributors who have surplus stock or returned items.
  • All of these products can find a second life in the homes and cottages of our customers, while saving the environment, giving back to the Habitat cause and helping us to serve more families across the country.

Thank You to All ReStore Donors for the Incredible Support in 2009

We want to say THANK YOU to every one of our donors and most certainly to our major donors for their continued support over the years. We strive to work with as many donors as possible, large and small, to help maintain the growth in this very important product category, throughout 2010 and in the years to come, so we can continue to support the families we serve across the country and around the world. In return for the support from our donors we ask you to support their business so as to help keep them successful in what they do so well.
