Are You a ‘Good Neighbour'? Delta Hotels and Resorts Aims To Be Just That Gold Partner of Habitat in Canada Launches ‘Good Neighbours Challenge’
Delta Hotels and Resorts began a three-year partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada in 2009. In its first year, the hotel chain doubled its fundraising goals, raising over $500,000 for Habitat homebuilding activities across Canada! Additionally, Delta employees participated on build sites from coast to coast in support of affordable housing.
This year, Delta launched the "Good Neighbours Challenge" committing to an ambitious goal of raising 10,000 volunteer hours and $1 million and donating 10,000 volunteer hours to support neighbourhood charities from coast to coast, including Habitat for Humanity. The Challenge demonstrates Delta's commitment to strengthening Canadian communities. Throughout the year, Delta employees across Canada will hold volunteering and fundraising events to support four key areas: improving access to affordable housing, protecting the environment, supporting neighbourhood causes and volunteering.
Delta’s President and CEO, Hank Stackhouse alongside etalk host Ben Mulroney, launched the Good Neighbours Challenge in April by hosting a fundraising drive and community breakfast in a Toronto Beaches neighbourhood. Delta also conducted a survey to find out what Canadians think makes a good neighbour and you can go here to read some of the results!

"The Good Neighbours Challenge is an ambitious campaign, but it is also a demonstration of the strength of our commitment to making a difference in our local communities. This commitment is about supporting local organizations and neighbourhood causes. It ‘s also about volunteering in our own backyard to build a stronger community for everyone to share". - Hank Stackhouse, President and CEO, Delta Hotels and Resorts
