Delta Hotels and Resorts Launches Cross-Canada Tour to Build Stronger Canadian Communities
One Car, Six Employees and 33 Communities in 60 Days!
Delta Hotels and Resorts has selected six employees (Community Ambassadors) to embark on a cross-Canada journey this June and July to help build stronger Canadian communities.
The Delta Community Cruiser Tour will reach 33 communities and travel 11,000 km to participate in various fundraising activities to showcase the importance of volunteering and encourage charitable giving.

Making All Stops: From Washing Cars to Building Homes, Delta’s Spirit Travels Coast to Coast
The first stop on the Delta Community Cruiser tour was at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort in Victoria, BC where Delta employees participated in a car wash and barbeque event to raise money for Habitat for Humanity Victoria. As a national charitable partner, Delta shares Habitat for Humanity Canada’s commitment to building strong communities. Whether it’s helping build a house, hosting a food drive or planning a car wash or golf tournament, the Ambassadors will be doing their part to help in each community they visit.

A Company-Wide Commitment to Local Communities When it’s Needed the Most
At a time when Canadians are struggling through economic uncertainty, Delta is ramping up its community involvement - and they’re doing so in an innovative way. The Delta Community Cruiser tour is the embodiment of the brand's commitment to giving back to the communities it serves, by sending six employees to connect the company locally and nationally, uniting it under one campaign.

"Now, more than ever, it's important for us all to lend a helping hand in our communities, and I'm really pleased that this initiative will involve all of our employees across the country in supporting local charitable causes."
- Hank Stackhouse, President and CEO, Delta Hotels and Resorts

Delta employees engage in volunteer activities in every community that Delta calls home. While the Community Cruiser tour is led by the six Ambassadors, hundreds of local Delta employees from each community will be participating in events and supporting the communities where they live and work.

A Green Journey
Having started in the west, the 60-day tour ends in St. John’s, Newfoundland on July 30th. To limit their footprint, the Ambassadors are making the 11,000 km journey in a new 2010 Toyota Prius, which is the most fuel-efficient vehicle on the market. This choice is a reflection of Delta’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
