Habitat Receives Urban Leadership Award

Thanks to the Tremendous Work of Our Volunteers!

We are thrilled to announce that Habitat for Humanity Canada was selected by the Canadian Urban Institute as the winner of a 2008 Urban Leadership Award in the City Renewal category.

The Urban Leadership Awards program celebrates individuals, groups and organizations that have made a profound and lasting impact on the public realm. The City Renewal category recognizes
activities that renew, revitalize and restore our cities through advocacy that shapes policy on urban issues – promoting attitudinal change, encouraging public participation, and transforming our urban landscape for future generations.

All for One. One for All.
This award, typically awarded to an individual, was presented to the entire Habitat for Humanity association in Canada as a result of the large number of Habitat volunteers nominated this year.

The 5th Annual Urban Leadership Awards luncheon was held on Tuesday, May 27th, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

Habitat for Humanity Canada Volunteer of the Year, Neale Kemp from HFH Grey-Bruce, was on hand to accept the honours, along with Habitat President & CEO, David Hughes.

Here’s to You!
As recipients of this prestigious award, we would like to dedicate it to all our wonderful volunteers and affiliates across Canada, whose significant contribution of time and hard labour continue to make our vision possible.
