2010 Hammer of Hope Ride

In Support of Sustainable Homes

The Hammer of Hope Ride is about supporting Habitat for Humanity's commitment to building sustainable and affordable homes across Canada and at the same time contribute to this expanding global housing ministry. Donations to the Hammer of Hope Ride will ensure more Habitat homes are built to a recognized Green standard enabling Habitat homeowners to save money through low utility costs and at the same time enjoy a healthy living environment.
  

To Sponsor a Rider or Make a General Donation

1st Hammer of Hope Ride – Waterloo to Ottawa, April 24-27

This is the first-ever Hammer of Hope Ride! Due to the length of the event, a limited number of riders are expected to participate in 2010.

The Hammer of Hope Ride starts in Waterloo, Ontario on Saturday April 24th. Riders will make their way over four days arriving in our nation's capital, Ottawa, the afternoon of April 27th. The ride has been broken up into manageable legs of 20 to 40 kms, enabling participants to challenge:
  • just one leg,
  • an entire day of riding,
  • or form a relay team to undertake a larger distance.
Participating riders are not expected to challenge the entire four day distance.

NOTE: Due to the challenging distance and planned route, this ride is only open to adult riders, 18 years and over – and all participants must be able to maintain a 15 km/hr pace over a 30 km distance.
