I have been involved in the residential construction industry for over 15 years. I ran a small building supply business in Charlottetown for 7 years. In 2001 I opened Hilchie Quality Homes and today employ 10 people and have built over 140 homes. I am also involved in residential land development and commercial construction and property rentals.
In 2000 the first Habitat home was built across from my home and at the same time I heard about Habitat in church. I was really interested and got involved. I joined the board as construction chair and continued into the position of vice chair then chair until 2008. I was involved with many local Habitat projects including starting the first ReStore in PEI, developing the first Habitat Subdivision, and helping to host the 2007 HFHC AGM in PEI.
Presently I am vice president of HFH PEI and Secretary for HFHC National Board of Directors.
