| Most six-year-olds have different ideas about what they want for their sixth birthday than Brennan Fraser, a London resident who turned his birthday party into a fundraiser by requesting that his friends bring donations for Habitat for Humanity rather than gifts.
The six-year-old's father told Habitat that Brennan was moved by what he saw on television surrounding the recent natural disasters in countries like Haiti and Pakistan, while visiting the London affiliate with his son to hand over the $200 cheque. |

Brennan's generosity comes at a time when Habitat London is actively seeking to increasing their profile and visibility in the community by hosting the CAW Hammer of Hope Build, an eleven-day blitz home build taking place in the King St. parking lot of downtown London's sport-entertainment centre, the John Lebatt Centre. To recognize Brennan's selflessness, Habitat London invited him and his family to join the invite-only VIP sponsor event that happened at the build site the evening of August 10th. There, London West MP, Ed Holder, presented Brennan with a skateboard as a token of his and Habitat London's gratitude. |

The CAW Hammer of Hope Build is part of Habitat London's ambitious goal of providing ten houses to deserving families in 2010. Their objective is to build six homes, complete two ReNew It homes and participate in two international builds in Bolivia. Once the CAW Hammer of Hope home was completed, it was moved by truck to a lot at the corner of Egerton and Francis Streets, a lot where the Outlaws biker gang operated a clubhouse until seven years ago when it was shut-down by police. In years following, the building went unused until it was finally razed in 2009. |

"I think it's great. What an upgrade," said Sara Tennant, 22, who has lived on Egerton Street for 12 years. "My parents were terrified of me walking by that (biker) clubhouse when it was there," she said. "There were always police there. This is 100% better." (source: London Free Press)
This shows how Habitat homes help communities as well as individual partner families. This is all made possible by the contributions made by remarkable donors like Brennan Fraser.
