The Wolfe Family

Working two jobs at shelters for indigenous women, Barbara Wolfe knew her work helped others improve their lives, but the pay didn't allow her to improve the living conditions of her own family. The Wolfes lived in an apartment in a converted house in a neighbourhood of drug dealers and addicts, noise and street fights.

“It was not a wholesome place to be raising my girls, Hannah and Pamela.” - Barbara Wolfe

After applying, being approved and putting in 500 hours of sweat equity, the Wolfe family now resides in a well-built Habitat Canada home and, instead of rent, pays a mortgage that is geared to their income.
