Habitat for Humanity homeowners are happier, healthier, more confident and more financially secure in their new homes. These are some of the reasons why this summer, from July 9-14, we’re building 150 homes with 150 families in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary. Share YOUR reason to build using #150ReasonstoBuild
and help us raise funds!

What is the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project?

From July 9-14, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter came to Canada for Habitat for Humanity’s 34th Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project. What did we achieve? We helped build 150 homes across the country for Canada’s 150th anniversary of confederation – Habitat Canada’s biggest build project ever!

Over the week the Carters focused their efforts in Edmonton and Winnipeg, but the Carter Work Project was a Canada-wide effort, with almost 50 communities in every province and territory helping us reach our goal of building 150 homes. Scroll down to our stories and videos section for highlights from the week.

Ultimately we believe that everyone in Canada has the right to a safe, affordable and decent place to live. By contributing your time or money to Habitat you can help build a more caring Canada – where neighbours help neighbours build homes that provide a safe and affordable foundation for a better life.
