May 30, 2016
TORONTO – Habitat for Humanity Canada is excited to announce its continued partnership with Wine Rack, which has raised another $150,000 and committed to over 1,000 staff volunteer hours for “Wine Rack Build Week.”
From May 30 - June 5, 2016, 130 Wine Rack employees will take part on builds across Ontario. Wine Rack has also sent two staff members to help families internationally through Habitat Canada’s Global Village program.
“This has been an enriching experience. Being able to see the results of your work and seeing firsthand the positive impact on the family was heartwarming. I will never forget this experience.” Jean Poirier, Wine Rack Area Manager.
Since 2014, Wine Rack and its parent company Constellation Brands Canada have donated over $500,000 and committed over 1,000 volunteer hours to building safe, decent and affordable housing for Canadian families.
“Habitat for Humanity Canada shares our vision of giving back to the communities where our employees live and work says Sean Taylor, Vice President, Wine Rack. “Our commitment to giving back is brought to life by the passion shown by our employees.”
Through partnerships like this one with Wine Rack and Constellation Brands Canada, Habitat for Humanity Canada builds homes for families using volunteer labour, financial contributions and donated materials.
“We value the enthusiasm Wine Rack and their staff bring to everything they do with us,” says Mark Rodgers, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Canada. “It’s clear that they also believe that helping families build strength, stability and self-reliance lays the foundation for their future.”
